The Friends of the Johnson County Public Library accept book donations for their semi-annual book sales. These sales allow the Library to purchase more books for the shelves and provide events such as the Summer Reading Program and the Imagination Library Carnival.
Donated books will be accepted during the hours the Library is open Mon, Tue, Fri 9-6, Wed and Thur 9-5 and Sat 9-1. Please call before coming if you have a large amount (more than 2 boxes or bags) of books to donate. Library staff may not be able to help you carry boxes in so please do not pack large boxes full.
Book donations are usually accepted at the North door of the building where the meeting room is, unless there are activities scheduled in that room. Please do not put donated books outside of any of the doors or in the book drop.
Donated books are typically used, but must be in good condition and not damaged in any way. We do not accept text books or encyclopedias and magazine donations should be published in the current year.
We have one shelf of donated books in the Library available for sale year-round.
